Digital Input Port 1 and 2

Typical wiring schematic for digtial inputs.  Pin 1 is ground and connected to one side of all switches. Pins 2 to 6 are connected to the other side of switches 1 to 5.

Typical wiring shown with momentary, normally open switches. Toggle, normally closed, or rotary switches may also be used. The state of the switch (open or closed) will be reported by the ReDAC Module.

The theoretical maximum distance for wiring between the switch and the ReDAC is one half of one mile (2,640 feet or 805 meters). Actual distance and performance will be affected by gauge and quality of wire.

Analog Input Port

Recommended value of potentiometers is 50K.

If more sensitivity is required, 10K potentiometer may be used. As value of potentiometer decreases, current and therefore power consumption will increase.

Digital Output Port

Typical wiring of digital outputs to LEDs.  Pin 1 is ground, cathode end of LEDs are connected to pins 2 to 6The typical wiring schematic shows LEDs connected to the digital outputs. These outputs can also be used to drive any low current device with 1K ohm or greater impedance.
