X-keys Software

Technical Note: Windows 7 does not support MacroWorks software.  Coming soon: MacroWorks 3 will support all USB X-keys on Windows 7 (as well as XP and Vista).  Meanwhile, any X-keys programmed in Hardware Mode on Windows XP or Vista will still play back keystroke macros on Windows 7.  Click here to learn more about Hardware Mode.

MacroWorks II

P.I. Engineering has recently released our new macro software, MacroWorks II. This software is currently compatible with most X-keys USB hardware and requires Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. Please click here for more information.

Hardware Mode

In Hardware Mode (MWII Firmware), the X-keys stores keyboard sequences and combinations in on-board, non-volatile memory. This feature is very useful for programming an X-keys on one system and moving it to another. In this way, we can support Operating Systems which are incompatible with our programming software.

MacroRecorder

All X-keys USB devices which do not have the X-keys SE designation operate in Memory Resident Mode. This newest version of Macro Recorder will detect which mode your X-keys is in and allow you to switched to Memory Resident Mode.

PS/2 Recorder

With our X-keys PS/2 Recorder application and our PS/2 Host Emulator you can: Read programming from your PS/2 X-keys to a data file; save, edit, or copy the file; write the file (programming) to a PS/2 X-keys; edit macros at the keystroke level in the file; convert the file for use with USB X-keys; and protect programming on the X-keys.
